August is Sight Saving Month, a time dedicated to reminding everyone just how important it is to take care of our vision. To help spread this message across Central Luzon, the team from Soliman Paroli took a trip to the radio booth, guesting on RW 95.1 FM’s popular public affairs show, Talakayan Ngayon.

Hosted by veteran broadcaster Perry Pangan, with Albert Lacanlale and Boy Santiago, the show was the perfect place to talk about eye health in a way that everyone can understand. The goal wasn't to use complicated medical terms, but to give listeners clear, helpful advice on how to protect their eyesight for the long haul.

The broadcast featured a family of experts from the clinic: Dr. Jonathan Paroli, Dr. Baby Paroli, and Dr. Mark Paroli. Together, they shared their combined experience to answer common questions and give listeners a better understanding of how to care for their eyes.

Why General Eye Health Matters

The main focus of the radio chat was complete eye care. The doctors emphasized that healthy vision isn't just about getting a new pair of glasses when your sight gets blurry; it’s about regular check-ups and catching problems before they get worse.

Instead of waiting for vision to deteriorate, the panel explained that routine exams are the best defense against underlying issues that often show no early warning signs. By discussing everything from daily visual habits to the importance of early intervention across all age groups, the team highlighted that taking care of your eyes is a lifelong commitment that requires a proactive approach.

Giving Back This August: Free Eye Care for Kids

Talking about eye health is important, but taking action is what really makes a difference. To truly celebrate Sight Saving Month, Soliman Paroli Eye Center announced a special community project focused entirely on children.

When kids can't see properly, it affects how they learn, play, and grow. To help, the clinic will be conducting a Vision screening on August 26, 2026 on kids with Low Vision:

  • Free Vision Screenings: The clinic is providing free eye tests specifically for children dealing with Low Vision (vision loss that can't be easily fixed with regular glasses). Catching these issues early helps kids make the most of the sight they have.

  • Free Eyeglasses: Soliman Paroli will be providing free prescription eyeglasses to kids who need them, specifically those registered under PhilHealth and the YAKAP program.

By teaming up with these health programs, Soliman Paroli hopes to lift the financial burden off parents and ensure kids get the care they deserve. If you were tuning in to the broadcast, the message was clear: drop by to any Soliman Paroli this August and make sure your child's vision is ready for a bright future.
