A New Era of Accessible Healthcare in Central Luzon
On May 1, 2026, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) Regional Office 3 officially launched its newest Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) clinic at the Soliman Paroli Eye Center in Newpoint Mall, Angeles City, Pampanga.
This launch represents a significant shift in how primary care is delivered in the Philippines. By integrating healthcare facilities into high-traffic, accessible areas like shopping malls, the barrier to entry for routine check-ups and preventative care is drastically reduced.
What is the YAKAP Program?
The Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) is an expanded version of PhilHealth’s previous Konsulta package. It is designed to improve primary healthcare services for all Filipinos by prioritizing prevention and early detection over reactive treatments.
Beneficiaries who register at an accredited YAKAP facility gain access to a comprehensive suite of outpatient benefits, effectively lowering out-of-pocket medical expenses.
Services Available at Soliman Paroli Eye Center
As a fully accredited YAKAP center, the clinic provides a centralized location for both healthcare services and PhilHealth administrative needs. Key services include:
Primary Consultations: Free general health check-ups and basic medical screenings.
Diagnostics & Testing: Access to routine laboratory services and specific cancer screening referrals.
Free Medicines (GAMOT): Access to 75 identified essential medicines, with patients able to avail up to ₱20,000 worth of medication per year.
PhilHealth Administration: On-site member registration, record updates, and ID distribution.
Why Mall-Based Clinics Matter
Healthcare systems face a persistent challenge: patient drop-off due to logistical friction. When visiting a clinic requires taking a day off work, navigating difficult commutes, or navigating crowded public hospitals, patients often delay preventative care until a condition becomes severe.
Placing a YAKAP clinic inside Newpoint Mall addresses this friction directly. It allows families, employees, and senior citizens to integrate their healthcare routines into their daily lives with greater convenience.
How to Avail of the Services
To access these benefits, individuals must be registered PhilHealth members. Registration to a preferred YAKAP facility can be completed through:
